Merfolk are human from the waist up, from the waist down is a fish like tail. The exact color and shape of the tail differs between Mers depending on where they are from. Some (but not all) Mers have scaly patches on their upper body making them look a bit more fishlike, most of the time this can be found on the arms or in women, on their chest.

- telepathic ability to speak with sea life (this ability varies, some just chose not to use it, which makes the ability weaker, and over time will disappear)
- ability to manipulate water
